Joanna Holisz is a Glasgow-based artist who graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 2021. As well as being selected for the RSA New Contemporaries exhibition, Joanna was a selected artist for Saatchi Rising Stars 2022, and for an exhibition in Greenock’s Beacon Arts Centre with Orla Kane. She was a lead member of the organising committee for The Alternative Degree Show Festival in 2021 - a student-led festival in response to the absence of a physical degree show during Covid-19.

 

Working primarily with oil paint on paper, Joanna paints imagined landscapes and uses her practice to think through what it means to make an ‘authentic’ artwork.
