Kayleigh Kellas graduated from Moray School of Art, UHI, with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art in 2022. Coming from a small village and a family-owned business lineage, Kayleigh is the first in her family to pursue university and the first to embark on an arts career. Her work has exhibited across the Scottish Highlands and Islands, Moray and Aberdeen. She recently had a series of paintings selected for Grampian Hospitals Art Trust’s permanent collection.
Working from her home studio, Kayleigh uses painting to process information. Inspired by the gestural work of post-war Abstract Expressionism, she employs an oil-painted ‘language’ - a predetermined selection of brush marks, gestures, and palette - as a conduit for processing emotions, sounds and images.
