I am a Glasgow based painter who graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 2023. My recent works are paintings of paintings, exploring the object of a stretched canvas with its sides and corners, its flatness and its colour. A stretched canvas is a beautiful thing in itself, and my work seeks to preserve this with a provisional way of painting.

 

The paint is referential to the surface it is put onto. The grid is a way of exploring this as it houses colours. It’s a lattice that maps out the picture plane, made up of pretty crosses.
