I studied at the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture, Aberdeen, after being awarded a scholarship to study architecture in 2016. I graduated with a BSc in Architecture (Distinction) in 2019, before returning for a Master’s degree in 2021 following a year of practical experience. I graduated with a MArch (Distinction) in 2023 while being awarded the RGU Art + Heritage Award, Inverness Architecture Award, commended in the RIAS Andy MacMillan Drawing Award, shortlisted for the RIAS Rowand Anderson Silver Medal and nominated for the RIBA Silver Medal.

The exhibited work titled The Vertical Brewery formed part of my MArch degree. The project explores the concept of industrial urbanism as a tactical intervention to bring work back into Aberdeen city centre. The project turns to the historic precedent of the Victorian Tower Brewery, rediscovering a brewing concept which has the potential to reduce energy consumption and contribute to the creation of a more economically resilient, circular and self-sufficient industry.

Having returned to architectural practice following graduation, I am now undertaking a PhD at the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture focusing on digital architectural communication and the contemporary practice of physical model making.
