Ahed Alameri (b. 2001; Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates) is an Emirati interdisciplinary artist with a practice that delves into themes of power dynamics, identity and cultural narratives. Her art is profoundly shaped by experiences across diverse landscapes and is expressed through performance, audio work, installations, and letterpress. She completed her art education at Edinburgh College of Art in 2024, graduating with a first-class honours in Intermedia Art. Alameri received multiple awards including the Clason-Harvie Bursary for outstanding work from the School of Art. She was one of 12 recipients from across Scottish universities to be awarded the Society of Scottish Artists New Graduate Award.

“THESEUS I” (2025) is the first in a trilogy of works which respond to the written outcomes of workshops conducted by the artist in 2022/2023. These workshops invited participants to critically engage with their perceptions of national identity and belonging.  The performance draws upon the philosophical paradox of the Ship of Theseus—if every part of a text is replaced, does it remain the same? Audiences will be invited to rewrite, reproduce, and recreate the work. It examines themes of authorship, ownership, and power dynamics, questioning how narratives are constructed, redefined, and transformed within shared spaces.
