Ben McGinlay Graduated from Gray’s School of Art in 2024. His work was selected for the UK Graduate Art Show and was exhibited in Salisbury’s Vanner Gallery in early 2025.
McGinlay’s work explores the overwhelming presence of advertising and the constant flow of images in our lives. His paintings reflect the seductive yet disconnected nature of these visuals, highlighting their fleeting promises and unfulfilled futures. By subtly altering these familiar images, he disrupts the way we read them, forcing viewers to confront how their reality has been influenced and shaped by the images and texts they encounter every day. Collage-like compositions, expressive brushwork and distorted proportions are key features of his paintings.
