I am an artist currently based in Edinburgh, having completed my degree in Fine Art: Painting and Printmaking at the Glasgow School of Art. My practice is concerned with painterly aesthetics as well as storytelling. Imagery in my work retains an ambiguity and therefore mystery; I use the identifiable forms of people, the landscape and animals to interject loose narratives of a cinematic nature. Inspired by the ideas born in my sketchbook, pictures become a synthesis of thoughts, dreams, observation and feeling. My work finds its fruition in smaller and more intimate moments of reflection, it aims to reach others as personal and above all, sincere. The selection of work here is a mixture of paintings displayed in my degree show last year and those made around this time - new narratives emerge with its changing curation.
