Creating art for my final year was about taking opportunities and experimentation. I was incentivised to make my stop-motion film thanks to the abundance of tools and resources at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, not to mention a dire need to thoroughly vent through my art.
From lip gloss and gel pens to solitude and growth, my stop-motion film delves into the vibrant spectrum of femininity. The film revolves around its sole character, Tracy, navigating her room and mind, through her narrated journal entries. Tracy is layered with girly stereotypes and nuanced emotion, serving as a focal point of a visual diary that encapsulates the naive stubbornness of a self-assured young woman grappling with denial and boredom.
