Theodora is a multidisciplinary artist based in Glasgow, with a Greek/Scottish background. Her practice revolves around subjective relations to culture, social norms and to our own emotions. Working though kinetic sculptures/ ‘object performance’, drawing and installation; Theodora’s work explores the fabrication of undesirable emotions and our ability to collaborate or engage with a previously inert object once it has become animated.
Our memories are unreliable, the romance of a memory is removed from the reality of our experience, our constant struggle to recreate and re-explain our experiences results in the bastardisation of unexplainable beautiful things. Our recreations will always fall short of what we saw, what we felt. However, in their clumsiness and shortcomings, our makings reflect our persistent need to continue recreating.
