John Mackechnie RSA is one of the foremost artist-printmakers in the UK, creating prints a variety of media since the 1960s.
Mackechnie's work is predominately based on his own photographs that he has further developed into etchings and screenprints. His recent work has included the use of digital technology. Mackechnie’s work is included in numerous public and private collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; the Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow; the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, the British Museum London and Aberdeen Art Gallery. He is the Director of Glasgow Print Studio.
