Frank Pottinger RSA was a renowned scupltor and printmaker.
Pottinger was born in Edinburgh in 1932. He has served as artist in residence in various locations throughout the UK and in Germany. His abstract sculptures and prints have been exhibited internationally.
Frank Pottinger RSA: 'There is a vernacular theme in my work and it is one in which I allow the widest possible interpretation of the word. In that respect I have a notion that in landscape, music, artefacts and dialect speech, categories however familiar, there exist subtle affinities of form. The forms which are developed from those connections I attempt to express in sculptures and prints, and the finished work may sometimes involve both.'
