Harold Ogle Tarbolton was born in Nottingham in 1869. He was educated at Chigwell, Essex, at the Royal Academy Architectural School and commenced practice in Edinburgh in 1895 after travelling abroad.
His noteable works include the completion of Bermuda Cathedral, which he submitted as his RSA Diploma Work, the Elsie Inglis Memorial Hospital in Edinburgh and the Sailor’s Ark, also in Edinburgh. He acted as Consultant Architect to the Dean and Chapter of St Ninian’s Cathedral in Perth and of Oban Cathedral and in 1944 was appointed Advisory Architect to the North Scotland Hydro-Electric Board.
