St Paul’s RC Church in Glenrothes is the site of one of Schotz’s most innovative religious commissions in the Our Lady’s Altar Piece. He was asked to create a Stations of the Cross, but the commission fell through when the church’s priest died.
Schotz based the design on the letters Alpha to Omega in the Greek alphabet. This early plasticine maquette is all that survives of the idea.
