Regional Award - Intermediate North Winner

From the artist: This drawing is a realistic depiction of my best friend, Sofia. The materials I used were graphite pencils ranging from HB-8B. For this drawing, I referred to a black-and-white image that I photographed. I used the grid method to make the facial features proportional and shaded using the cross-hatching technique. I picked this image because I wanted to capture her calm expression and sense of ease. I am very happy and honoured to have been given this award, especially after having to go against other amazing artists from around Scotland.
