New School Entrant Award - Second Prize Winner

The artist: "My artwork is a self-portrait. I was inspired to create this as I have done a lot of self-portraiture throughout my first few years at high school and so this is a skill that I have refined, and also something that I really enjoy doing. The piece is a tonal study using graphite pencils – a medium that I am fairly confident with. I am quite proud of this recognition of my work and it has greatly motivated me with the pieces that I’m currently working on and has encouraged me to continue to develop the skills I have gained from creating this artwork."
