The artist: "This painting was a study of a sculpture that I made for my art coursework. The theme for my coursework is the effect climate change has had on animals, specifically on sea life. The original sculpture is made from wire, modroc and plastic. I aim to create a sense of renewal in my pieces by incorporating plastic that would otherwise be thrown out, here stuffed into the frame of the fish. In the painting, I wanted to make it stand out by painting the plastic in a more simplistic and flat style than the rest of the body which has a dry brush effect."1of 3
