The artist: "I was inspired by ‘Betta fish’ to make this piece of Art. I chose fish as these made me think about tranquillity the way they move in the water. The Betta fish are colourful and bold, making them stand out. I also painted a trout because my Grandads a fisherman and he fishes trout, so I thought it was quite fitting. I looked at the work or Henri Matisse who used cut paper for his collages. I placed cut collaged paper as a background then coloured the fish using coloured pencil and the trout using tempera paint and I really liked the colours. I also sketched a white betta fish and added this in to the picture. I am really proud of this picture and the significance of the fish makes me think about my Grandad. Both my Grandma and Grandad are so proud of me and this had made me really happy."1of 3
