This one is evocative of James McIntosh Patrick's snowy highland landscapes of the late 1920s. The reverse face of this plate was used for Wilson's 1940 print A Welsh Castle, a cut-down impression of which is on show close by. It is likely Wilson cut down the plate for the Holyrood composition.
