Junior Award - First Prize Winner

From the artist: I am overjoyed with my recent results in your competition. It makes me so proud to be the first Bannerman pupil to ever win this award. Having only been a student at Bannerman for 2 years, I never thought I would have the honour of receiving this prize. Overall, this has really boosted my confidence and taught me new techniques. It has given me an understanding of shapes and proportion in the face by breaking down the features into simple shapes before my final sketch. Also, the materials I used and how I used them. For example, overlapping certain colours or how I used my brush to soften specific edges. After developing my skills, I will now be able to develop more detailed paintings and hopefully come back next year and qualify again.
