From the artist: The piece is based on my chosen theme of ‘Waking Up’ and I used oil paint as the medium. The scale of the painting is A1 as I believe this gives it a greater impact alongside the dramatic perspective. I am sincerely grateful to my art teacher and the RSA schools Art awards for granting me this opportunity as this was only my second time using oil paints, and I would have never expected to have been chosen.
