Intermediate Award - Third Prize Winner

From the artist: I used my own old toys in this attic scene to create a melancholy picture. I tried to emphasise the tragic feel of abandonment with the poses of the toys, especially the puppet who seems to be inviting play.
The toys I used for this scene are all from my own attic and bedroom: the puppet was my mum’s childhood toy, the teddy given to me by my great gran, and the dolls and car passed on to me from my great aunt and grandad. These remind me of the importance of family in my childhood memories.
