This June, for one day only, we’re turning one of our galleries into a watercolour studio!
If you’re already in love with watercolour, this is a chance to expand your practice and make bolder, bigger gestures. Alternatively, Academy Studio is an opportunity to explore a new medium, build your confidence, or even just dedicate some time for you.
Find your flow and with splashes, blooms, pools and spills, and explore the vast range of vibrant outcomes that are possible with watercolour. Spend time discovering new techniques, and embark on an expressive and therapeutic process full of colour and movement.
We’ll look at colour theory, contemporary watercolour approaches as well as the work of Academicians such as Ian Mackenzie Smith, Eileen Lawrence, William Littlejohn, Marian Leven and Gareth Fisher. All materials will be provided.
Suitable for all abilities, aged 14+. The workshop will run from 11am - 4pm, and we will break for lunch from 1pm - 2pm. You are welcome to bring a packed lunch, or there a number of shops and cafes close by.
