Join us for an immersive tour of our current exhibition, Reveal, with artist and curator, Derrick Guild RSA.
Derrick will talk through his ongoing interest in art history; how he connected with fellow artists Rowan Dahl and Alan Grieve, and how viewing Albrecht Dürer’s The Apocalypse for the first time ignited the spark that generated this masterful exhibition.
Derrick Guild RSA’s paintings and objects reference the European still life paintings of the 15th- 19th centuries. The drama, allegory and naturalism inherent in this period of painting speak to Guild of ever-present dilemmas of the human condition. His works are classical, formal and at the same time contemporary in their sense of dislocation and ambiguity.
