Heather Ross was awarded the prestigious Alastair Salvesen Art Scholarship (£12,000) for painting and travel in 2010. Her award-winning proposal presented to the Salvesen committee dealt with Japanese-based themes of old and new, femininity and technology. Since being awarded the prize, Heather has travelled to Japan to further develop these themes and the resulting work will form the basis of this exhibition.
