The artist: "As COVID broke in Wuhan in late 2019, bush fires devasted vast swathes of Australia, the ice caps ever decreasing, the ozone depleting and many desperate communities’ risk everything to escape persecution and find safe haven. I painted ‘Crisis Dwellers’ to show there is nowhere to run, nowhere to hide – as we retreat into our homes."
