RSA Library Exhibition
Emma Gillies (1900-1936) was a highly talented potter and studied both at Edinburgh College of Art and the Royal College in London. Also the younger sister of the painter, William Gillies, she sat for him many times but tragically her life was cut short by a fatal illness.
This display of paintings, photographs, pottery and personal belongings drawn from the permanent collection of the Royal Scottish Academy, explores Emma’s own work and her relationship with William Gillies.
