Hazel Anemometer and Birch Anemometer are a pair of kinetic sculptures inspired by current peatland research. They form part of a series of sculptural “instruments” inspired by meteorological devices and peatland flora. The works were created as part of an 18-month residency with the Flows to the Future peatland restoration project, led by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) in the Flow Country, Scotland.
