Junior Award - Third Prize Winner.

The artist: "My piece is a lifelike representation of my Gran (Janis) doing what she loves. Sewing has been a hobby of hers since she was young and has passed on the love of sewing to me, this is what inspired me to create this piece of art. I started by sketching the outline making sure all the proportions were correct then I used gouache paints in order to get the most vibrant and beautiful colours on to the paper. Gouache is actually a new medium to me but I really enjoyed experimenting with the unique colours and textures it can create. I am delighted to be winning an award and my Gran is also thrilled."
