Intermediate Award - Third Prize Winner.
The artist: "I created this piece for my Nation 5 Expressive final. I picked the theme of cakes and sweets as I loved the bright and vibrant colours involved. I experimented with a few different mediums before settling for a combination of acrylic paint and coloured pencil which I feel worked best to bring this piece to life. Setting the picture on a black background helped bring out the bold colours and the 3D element. I was really happy when I found out my work had won an award and it has boosted my confidence as I will be submitting it in my S5 folio."
