New School Award - Intermediate Award Winner.
The artist: "This piece was inspired by the Covid pandemic which has and will continue to affect humanity globally. I wanted to create something that would serve as a reminder of this time and that I could look back on, focusing mostly on the underlying fear that, for many people, took over their lives.
When painting with the acrylics I struggled a lot. It took a great deal of time to portray the outcome I had in my head, and throughout this process I was constantly learning how the paint worked in different lighting and when mixed with other colours.
For me it was an achievement to complete this painting. To be selected for an award by the RSA in the schools competition is something I never even considered and I feel honoured to be part of it."
