Until recently Mungo Burton ARSA (1799-1882), one of our lesser known members, remained unrepresented in our collections. Earlier this year we secured a large and impressive double portrait with a 100% grant from the National Fund for Acquisitions (Special Covid Fund), administered by the National Museum of Scotland. It depicts the sisters Georgiana Catherine Waddell and Gaston Margaret Waddell of Balquhatstone with their pet greyhound.
