We are delighted to announce a full list of award winners in this year's RSA New Contemporaries. We would like to extend a huge thank you to our external award givers for their generosity and support.
External Awards
The Glenfiddich Artist in Residence Award
£5,000 for three-month residency including studio space, accommodation and a material allowance of up to £10,000. Exhibition opportunity at Glenfiddich with a work accessioned to the Glenfiddich Collection.
The Walter Scott Award
£2,000
David & June Gordon Memorial Trust Award
£800, split £400 each for an artist living in the Grampian region or having studied at Gray’s School of Art.
Fleming-Wyfold Art Foundation Award
£1,500 for a painter, draughtsperson or sculptor.
Edinburgh Printmakers Residency Award
A printmaking course, 30 sessions (the equivalent of 1-month free studio use), 2 weeks accommodation in EP’s artists apartment and a £100 materials budget, a year’s membership and a studio space.
Glasgow Print Studio Award
Membership and unlimited session fees for one year.
National Library of Scotland Purchase Prize for Moving Image
The Skinny Prize
A two-page presentation of the artist's work in the print publication and shared online, an interview feature with the artist, timed to best coincide with promotion of future projects.
NHS Lothian Charity Tonic Arts Award
Purchase prize for an artwork/works suitable for an NHS Lothian hospital setting.
Scottish Parliament Art Collection Purchase Award
Purchase prize for artwork to join the Scottish Parliament Art Collection.
Outer Spaces Scotland Award
Use of a large-scale studio space for 1+ months, together with a £500 bursary.
Mothadaka Foundation Purchase Prize
Purchase prize for work to join the Mothadaka Foundation Art Collection.
VAA Highly Commended Award
Visual Artists Association premium membership plus free access to 1 VAA course of the artist’s choice.
VAA New Artist Award
Visual Artists Association Premium membership, 1 year of mentorship and PR opportunities, access to a series of online short courses, an invitation to show work in two upcoming exhibitions
