General purpose studios (Small Art Room 17.5m2, Big Art Room 33.4m2) with 24-

hour studio access, sink and storage space.

Fully equipped clay studio with work benches, extensive shelving, pugmill and

tools, with access to electric kilns.

All less than a five minute walk from the shore and surrounded by the hills of

Wester Ross.

Costs

2022 studio rental costs:

Small Art Room (17.5 m2): £66/week or £253/month

Big Art Room (33.4m2): £110/week or £385/month

Clay studio: £110/week or £440/month

Ceramics technical assistance: £13.20/hour

Kiln firings: £39 bisque, £28 glaze

General studios: 3 months
Clay studio: 6 weeks
Dates will depend on availability of the spaces desired.
The residency can be split over several visits if preferred.

Promotional support offered

Website, social media, local press plus ATS e-newsletters. An opportunity for an open studio or other public activities would be welcomed, and we will create opportunities to work with local groups through workshops etc if appropriate.

Exhibition or other opportunities

An online exhibition of work created during the residency is offered. An Talla Solais is currently planning the development of a new exhibition space within its existing premises and would be happy to explore possibilities with the artist for an exhibition of work on site, subject to our ongoing programme.

Alternative accomodation

There are many accommodation options in Ullapool and the vicinity, including B&B, self-catering and camping. B&B in Ullapool costs from around £55 per night. Please note that accommodation is often quickly booked up in the summer season. A site for a caravan / mobile home could be found if good notice given.
