In 1920, after marrying husband James Michie the pair moved to the South of France. Whilst for the most part, Redpath put her painting aside, this sketchbook features a range of watercolour sketches of the area. Redpath’s use of colour, particularly pinks, greys and blues feature heavily throughout this sketchbook, showcasing her passion for colours.
Not only does this book feature several sketches of the South of France, page 19 features a sketch of what would later become the painting Woman Painting Before an Alter, Spain.
