Previously within my practice I explored making automata using clay figures, performing comical mundane daily tasks. Continuing with a similar simplistic style I have focused on ideas of performance, beauty and colour. I have drawn inspiration from childhood wonders and exploration through forests and fields with the hope of establishing a dialogue between art and childhood through shapes, lines, colours, and movement.

Since graduating from Edinburgh College of Art I have continued living in Edinburgh and been fortunate enough to dedicate my time to ideas and explore different ways of making. Using local resources and materials has advanced my creativity and allowed me to develop new skills. During the summer of 2022 I spent four weeks living in Lišov, a small town in Slovakia, learning local traditional crafts such as fence heaving, bee keeping, wine making and weaving. During my stay in Lišov, I saw the strength of storytelling through art and developed a passion for weaving.

Over recent summer months a dear friend and I spent some time completing a pilgrimage; walking continuously through apple farms and fields of cattle. The trip inspired many new ideas for weaving designs and wooden sculptures.
