The catalyst of this piece was the discovery of the filming process as foreplay, what played out was a genuine moment of connection - which no longer just existed as a recollection, but also recorded footage. Myself and Grunvold devised a loose plan prior to filming, based upon mutual inspirations of aesthetics but we allowed the spontaneity to take the lead. I then developed the footage and ‘score’ and created this work which is an audio and visual landscape of tranquillity and tensions, between lust and longing, expressed by the subtle shifts through sounds, tonality and the interplay of light and dark. The ‘rendition of a memory’ is a common theme throughout my own work.

My writing lays bare personal experiences continuing the themes of lust, longing and the human experience. I find my writing often provides body and dimension to the visuals in my practice. Through the writing, I think. Through the images, I do.

Born in Italy and raised in Shetland, I moved to Glasgow to work and study and graduated with a BA (Hons) Fine Art (First) from Glasgow School of Art.
