Fyfe Daly is a visual artist living and working in Glasgow. He graduated from the Edinburgh College of Art with a BA (Hons) in Painting (2022) and was the recipient of the Helen A. Rose Bequest (2022) and Paolozzi Award (2021).

Predominantly interested in figuration and the human experience, Fyfe depicts his own surroundings and social groups. He grapples to hold onto the familiar while stripping back spaces into a stage for newly imagined picture making.

I like to insert imaginative narratives and humour into spaces. Using my artistic licence I try to create altered compositions and moods which create interesting images while being sympathetic to the real locations, and in these cases local businesses that I am re-contextualising.

I want the audience to find familiarity with the images, while accepting them as a new creation. I also find humour in exhibiting personal subject matter within these works, that otherwise have very little significance.
