I graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2023 with a First Class BA Hons degree in Painting. My practice concerns itself with the fragility of the world we all share. My interests lie in landscape, language and culture.

Over 2500 languages, predicted by UNESCO to reach extinction by the turn of the century, have been hand-printed on delicate muslin to create Save ME! A 50mt scroll of Endangered Languages. When a language dies, the stories, histories, music, recipes and in short much of a community’s identity dies with it.

This work is an exploration of the intricate relationship between language and culture. I am captivated by the nuanced tapestry of expressions and identities woven into these linguistic treasures, each facing the threat of extinction. Through my work, I strive to amplify the voices of marginalized linguistic communities, shedding light on the vulnerability of their cultural heritage. The diversity encapsulated in endangered languages serves as both my muse and motivation, inspiring a visual narrative that transcends linguistic barriers.

With this work I aim to foster awareness, appreciation, and in a small way contribute to the preservation of our world’s linguistic kaleidoscope.
